Reprocessor: Difference between revisions

[[Reprocessor]] is the term generally used by an business that takes materials that have been either collected (i.e. via [[Dry Recyclable Separate]] collection) or sorted (i.e. via a [[MRF]]) into their component parts and uses them to produce new products, as opposed to separating mixed materials for onward shipping for use by others. Examples might include a [[Paper Mill]] taking [[Cardboard]] to produce new [[Cardboard]], or [[News & PAMS]] to make new newspaper or [[Cardboard]] products. Other examples could include a Plastics Reprocessor that may take a particular Plastic type for processing into pellets and for extrusion into new products via a [[PRF]].

When a Reprocessor produces an end product, often defined by achieving an [[End of Waste Criteria | End of Waste]] status, they generally will be able to claim a [[PRN]] for the tonnage recycled in respect of [[Packaging Waste]].
