The Installation is a single line [[Incineration|incinerator]] designed to have a capacity to process 1.5 tonnes (maximum) of [[Waste|waste]] an hour (approximately 10,000 tonnes a year). Empty bins are washed on site and the bin washings are discharged to the three-stage interceptor before discharge to sewer. Also discharged to the interceptor are floor washings, [[wikipedia:Boiler blowdown| blowdown]] from the waste heat boiler and ash quench pit water. | |||
