The [[Sustainable Development Goals]] ([[SDG]]) were adopted by all members of the United Nations (UN) in 2015 as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. They are a call for action to 'promote prosperity while protecting the environment'. There are 17 in total and they acknowledge that ending poverty requires strategies that build economic growth and address a range of social needs including education, health, equality and job opportunities, while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.
