The Troon site was developed by Glennon Brothers Ltd to process residues from their adjacent sawmill, one of the largest in the UK, and provide heat to dry processed wood and has been operating since 2017. It is located in Troon harbour, at the old Adam Wilson & Sons Sawmill.

Local Authority Users
The plant utilizes Wood Waste from an adjacent sawmill, and receives no local authority wood.

The tonnage processed by the plant is a mixture of Wood Waste off-cuts from its adjacent sawmill and is essentially 'internal' material from their own processing.
