This is a ‘waste destination’ description that appears in WasteDataFlow.

Waste Disposal Authorities will select this option from a drop down list within WasteDataFlow if the Residual Waste collected by the Waste Collection Authorities or Residual Waste collected at their Household Waste Recycling Centres has been sent to an incineration facility that does not recovery energy from the waste which it uses as a fuel.

There are now only a handful of incineration facilities that do not recover energy and these tend to be the older Incineration plants. All the new facilities are legally required to recover energy and will not be granted a permit to operate if they do not.
