Summary

Also known as Biomass UK No 1, Hull Energy Production Facility is a Biomass EfW facility based on Wood Waste designed to export 10MWe of power. The plant was developed by Aviva Investors who also developed Biomass UK No 2 (Barry Dock) and No3 (Boston Energy Production Facility) .

Plant

The plant is based on a gasification technology via a Fluidised Bed with power generation via a steam boiler and turbine designed to process up to 86,400 tonnes per annum at a nominal capacity of 10.8 tonnes per hour. The plant remainder closed much of 2021 to allow for an upgrade programme and operated at 15% of capacity in the year.
