An EfW facility based upon conventional combustion technology that reached financial close in July 2022. South Clyde has a forecast operational capacity of 350,000 tonnes per annum. The project is owned 50/50 by Macquarie Asset Management's Green Investment Group and Fortum Glasgow a subsidiary of Fortum Oyj[1] .

Summary

South Clyde has a forecast operational capacity of 350,000 tonnes per annum, with a capability of a maximum of 385,440 tonnes. The project is owned 50/50 by Macquarie Asset Management's Green Investment Group and Fortum Glasgow a subsidiary of Fortum Oyj.
Technology
The plant technology will comprise a single line of a standard moving grate technology, processing around 44 tonnes per hour of waste and producing super-heated steam and 40MWe with a net export of 35MWe and 12MWth of heat[2]
Construction
The plant will be constructed under an EPCM arrangement with AFRY in co-operation with AFRY Solutions UK Ltd and AFRY Finland Oy. The grate and boiler was reported in July 2022 as beng delivered by Hitachi Zosen Inova SteinmüllerCite error: Closing </ref> missing for <ref> tag.
