A process where biodegradable material is broken down in the absence of oxygen in an enclosed vessel. The process produces carbon dioxide, a Biogas and solids/liquors known as digestate which can be used as fertiliser and compost. A nutrient rich residue known as digestate is also produced. Anaerobic digestion uses waste biodegradable materials such as agricultural manure and slurry, Food Waste and Sewage sludge[1].
