Waste Disposal East of England
The Waste Disposal Authorities in the East of England are listed below. There are three ways for the Waste Disposal Authority and Waste Collection Authority to work together and these are listed on the Waste Disposal Authority page. In the East of England all three types of arrangement are used.
In the East of England the following Waste Disposal Authorities have, or are, in partnerships to procure treatment and disposal contracts, some of which are through PPP/PFI arrangements:
- Bedford Council and Central Bedfordshire Council for residual waste treatment.
- Essex County Council and Southend-on-Sea Borough Council PFI for the treatment/disposal of residual waste at the Courtauld Road MBT facility in Basildon (although this facililty has now closed).
